DMC Cisco Systems Networking Academy

The CCNA certification (Cisco Certified Network Associate) indicates a foundation in and apprentice knowledge of networking. CCNA certified professionals can install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for small networks (100 nodes or fewer), including but not limited to use of these protocols: IP, IGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, Access Lists.
Official Certification Exams: 640-607 CCNA -or- 640-801 CCNA

As the entry-level certification of the Cisco Career Certifications Program, CCNA represents a strong foundation and understanding of IP networking and troubleshooting. Semesters 1 through 4 of the Cisco CCNA program, are targeted for instruction to high school, technical school, and Community College students. CCNA instruction focuses on how to install, configure, and operate simple-routed LAN, routed WAN, and switched LAN networks.

Ciscopedia: Ciscopedia v3.1 is a collection of commands that are taught in these Cisco Networking Academy courses. It includes information on where, when, why, and how to use the commands. It also includes examples for simple configurations.

CCNP (Cisco Certified Networking Professional) Curriculum The CCNP certification (Cisco Certified Network Professional) indicates advanced or journeyman knowledge of networks. With a CCNP, a network professional can install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for organizations with networks from 100 to more than 500 nodes, including but not limited to these protocols: IP, IGRP, IPX, Async Routing, AppleTalk, Extended Access Lists, IP RIP, Route Redistribution, RIP, Route Summarization, OSPF, VLSM, BGP, Serial, Frame Relay, ISDN, ISL, X.25, DDR, PSTN, PPP, VLANs, Ethernet, Access Lists, 802.10, FDDI, Transparent and Translational Bridging. Semesters 5 through 8 (CCNP1 - CCNP4) of the Cisco Networking Academy Program represent an advanced networking course that teaches skills associated with the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification exam. The CCNP curriculum examines complex networking concepts, such as troubleshooting tools and more sophisticated configurations.
