(Cisco Certified Networking Associate) Curriculum
The Cisco CCNA network associate certification validates
the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size routed and
switched networks. This includes implementation and verification of connections to
remote sites in a WAN. This new curriculum includes basic mitigation of security
threats, introduction to Wireless networking concepts and terminology, and performance
based skills. This new curriculum also includes (but is not limited to) the use
of these protocols: IP, EIGRP, SLIP, Frame Relay, RIPv2, VLANs, Ethernet, and ACLs.

Official Certification Exam: 640-802 (CCNA Certification) The CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) is the composite exam associated with the Cisco Certified Network Associate certification. Candidates can prepare for this exam by taking the Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices -Part 1 (640-822 ICND1) and the Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices -Part 2 (640-816 ICND2) courses. This exam tests the knowledge and skills required to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small to medium size enterprise branch network. Topics include WAN connections; Network Security; network types; network media; routing & switching fundamentals; the TCP/IP & OSI models; IP addressing; WAN technologies; operating & configuring IOS devices; extending switched networks with VLANs; determining IP routes; managing IP traffic with Access Lists; Point-to-Point connections; and Frame Relay connections. |
Official Certification Exam: 640-822 (CCENT Certification) The CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician) certification validates the skills required for entry-level network support positions, the starting point for many successful careers in networking. Candidates should have the knowledge and skill to install, operate and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network, including basic network security. Candidates can prepare for this exam by taking the ICND1 exam The CCENT certification is the first step toward achieving CCNA certification. CCENT and CCNA certifications are valid for three years.
