Verado v2.0
The IT Security Game

The First Computer Game
Specifically for Information Technology!

 verado-game-2.zip

This promotional goodie from IT security firm Verado pits players against a series of cartoon network terrorists. A mouse-driven shooting gallery, Verado 2.0 offers a nice selection of weapons. There's a paper shredder, staple gun, flamer, shield, IR-beam shooting PDA, and a CD chucker.

It can be a little confusing at first as you need to find the right weapon for each level (hint: level one - staples), but you can access any of the levels right from the menu bar and skip the ones that give you grief. Lots of animated levels and a full soundtrack of background music and sound effects make this one worth downloading.

Verado is a hilarious, frenetically paced, and poignant first-person shooter game that puts the player in the position of a harried IT worker with too many resonsibilities and too few resources. Featuring constant attacks from a wild collection of eccentric but dangerous adversaries.

  • The IT Security Game
  • Verado takes the experiences that IT experts face daily and turns them into a humorous barrage of data threats.
  • Fending off an exaggerated assortment of spammers, pingers, data thieves, and corporate spies, the player must use any weapons at his disposal -- from a low-tech trash can lid to a souped-up PDA -- to defend his data and save his servers from certain destruction.
  • Why-- In today's Internet age, the Information Technology (IT) professional faces a rising assortment of security concerns from hackers, crackers, thieves, and phreaks with one goal: getting to your network data.
  • How do you battle an onslaught of pings? Who's trying to steal your data, and who's just an innocent co-worker? First World: The IT Security Game makes an IT professional's worse nightmare a session of comic relief.
  • There's only one thing standing between them and total network destruction, and you're it!
